Walton-on-the-Hill Village Forum
This will be replaced by the player.
Various meetings have been held with several groups in the village, including a group
of teenagers, and as a result, this project will be in 2 phases, both to be built
this summer - the basic MUGA playing area for Basket-ball and also a Tennis Court
alongside. Building the Tennis Court has been possible thanks to two sizeable donations
from Bramley School and Pfizers. We continue to fund-raise to pay for the maintenance
costs and because we hope to add a perimeter track eventually.
The money donated by the May Pageant and other funds raised this year will go to
enhancing the facilities available. We are always happy to discuss the project and
welcome ideas for fund-raising or for other facilities.

The idea of improving the Village facilities by building a Multi-use Games Area on
Howard Close came out of the extensive research which Reigate & Banstead council
carried out in 2006 when compiling the Walton Village Community Action Plan. Residents,
especially those with families, put the lack of facilities for our youngsters as
one of the main “missings”.
MUGA - MULTI-USE GAMES AREA PROJECT
We have been fund-raising for the past 2 years and, with the help of donations from
a number of sources, including last years’s May Pageant, and particularly the successful
application by the Council for a grant from the Big Lottery Fund, a tender has been
accepted and building work will start soon after the May Pageant for completion of
the first phase in August.
The money donated by the May Pageant and other funds raised this year will go to
enhancing the facilities available. We are always happy to discuss the project and
welcome ideas for fund-raising or for other facilities.
